Why this Blog?

There are so many blogs and websites about movies, you may ask yourself  “Why another?” It is a good question, and one I may not have a good answer for.   But, my answer is this . . . . . . .

I think there are a lot of wonderful movies available to Netflix (and streaming video in general) viewers that many of them are just not even aware of.  I know that I certainly have found that to be true about myself.  If you go to other movie sites, you have to search for the  film you want to see information about.  I want to let others know that these movie options – and in my opinion good options – are out there.

That is it in a nutshell.  Not every movie I stream ends up in this blog – only the ones I would encourage other people to watch.

If you see something recommended here and you still are not sure, I would encourage you to check out some of these other great sites.  I find it helpful to view a variety of opinions and feedback when trying to make up my mind.  Plus I love movies and enjoy reading about them, and I find other people’s’ views on them interesting, informative and entertaining.  In each listing on this blog,  I provide a link to a detailed listing of that choice on Netflix where you can see their viewers’ rating (plus their rating for you if you are a member), as well as feedback from other subscribers.  I find Wikipedia a good, but inconsistent,  source of information.  Their listings range from minimal and lacking to very long, detailed plot descriptions and background.  This is just the nature of Wikipedia.  I would caution you that in many of the listings there is often a plethora of spoiler information.  My advise is to use them as a possible source of more detail after you have already watched the show.  One of my favorite movie sites is Rotten Tomatoes.  This site provides you with two ratings: their Tomatometer rating (based on feedback from a list of critics approved by the site) and their Audience rating (based on all ratings submitted by users of the site).  They also give you access to all critic and audience reviews, photos from the film, trailers and other videos, cast listings, and more.  The reason I did not choose to link to this site instead of Netflix is because I do not always find the movies on this blog listed there.   Last, but not least, is IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase).  This is one of the best online reference sites for lovers of film and TV with links to just about every aspect of their listings (cast, genres, directors, writers, keywords, etc.).  I dare say that if the movie or shows exists, you will find it here.
